Mrs. Elizabeth “Gerry” Shellenberger McCracken, 88, died Thursday, March 4, 2010 in a local hospital after a brief illness. She was a native of Glenside, Pa, and a resident of Philadelphia, Pa., before moving to Brewton in 1956. She was a member of the Brewton First United Methodist Church, a graduate of Drexel Unversity and a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, John Blair McCracken of Brewton; a son, Jimmy (Dianne) McCracken of Brewton; two daughters, Joan McCracken Owens of Brewton, and Barbara McCracken (Randy) Miller of Austin, Texas; a sister, Barbara Haebel of Vista, California; six grandchildren, John Paul Owens, Shelley Owens, John McCracken, James McCracken, Jay Miller and David Miller; and three great-grandchildren.
Graveside funeral services will be held Sunday, March 7, at 3 p.m. at Union  Cemetery with Dr. Ed Glaize officiating and Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
