Another 15 dilapidated structures are set for demolition after a low bid for the destruction was submitted by an Atmore industry.
Community Development Director Steve Yuhasz said the 15 structures were previously approved by council members and are set for demolition under a contract through the department.
Yuhasz said the Atmore business is capable of the work and are ready to begin immediately.
Brewton City Clerk John Angel said a request for a fireworks display to be held in conjunction with the celebration of Brewton’s 125th anniversary would require an exception by the council.
Angel also presented a bid tabulation that showed Pyro Productions of Adamsville as the low bidder for the show at $2,600.
Councilmen approved the exception and awarded the contract to the Adamsville company.
