WSN Eagle track teams travel to Mobile

On Saturday in Mobile, the W.S. Neal High School track team competed in the Saint Paul’s Relays.
The Lady Eagles of W.S. Neal finished with a 10th place finish with one point scored while the boys placed ninth with 10 points scored.
W.S. Neal Lady Eagles:
For the W.S. Neal Lady Eagles Breanna Hawthorne, Jasmine Crook, and Karen Samuel all competed in the discus with Hawthorne placing sixth with a throw of 82-01.
Hawthorne also led the Lady Eagles in the shot put with a throw of 27-8 1/2 taking seventh place. Samuel placed 20th with a throw of 23-6.
Khadijah Barton competed in the long jump for the Eagles and placed 23rd with a jump of 11-10.
In the javelin, Brooke Brown placed 25th with a throw of 54-10.
In the girls 4×100 meter relay, Barton, Samuel, Crook, and Brown placed 12th with a time of 1:01.52. The team of Heather Thomas, Jasmine Barton, Barton, and Glenaisa Butler posted an 11th place finish with a time of 2:11.85 in the 4×200 meter relay.
In the 1600 sprint medley, the team of Cheyenne Jackson, Jasmine Barton, Crook, and Bethany Migas placed 12th with a time of 5:36.
Crook, Migas, Jackson, and Butler then placed 11th in the 4×400 meter relay with a time of 5:15.80.
W.S. Neal boys:
For the Eagles boys in the shot put, Bryson Peterson led with a 34th place throw with a distance of 28 feet.
In the boys high jump, Bob Elliott led with a jump of 6-4 and Sam Ewing placed second with a jump of 6-2.
Ewing placed 14th in the long jump with a jump of 16-9. Elliott once again placed first with a triple jump of 42-1 followed by Gary Likely with a jump of 37-4.
In the javelin, Evan Clayton led the Eagles with a toss of 118-01 feet followed by Chase Kaylor with a throw of 96-04.
Jeremy Nicholson placed sixth in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 43.76 and Ewing placed 10th with a time of 46.52. Jeremy Alexander had a time of 49.63 for 19th place.
In the 4×100 meter relay, the team of Nicholson, DeAndre Smith, Ewing, and Alexander placed eighth with a time of 48.26.
In the 4×200 meter relay, Elliott, Josiah Nettles, Ewing, and Nicholson finished third with a time of 1:37.02.
For W.S. Neal in the 1600 spring medley, Dalton Lambeth, Alexander, Likely and Will Minchew placed 12th with a time of 4:34.64.
In the 4×800 meter relay, John Mark Regehr, Donald Hardyman, Thomas McCall, and Mario Gomez placed 11th with a time of 10:43.14.
