JDCC softball sweeps John Wood College

The Lady Warhawk softball team improved to 8-13 with a doubleheader sweep of John Wood Saturday at home.
JDCC won 5-1 in game one and 4-2 in game two to get the win.
In other games for JDCC, the Lady Warhawks lost Young Harris 4-3 and Georgia Perimeter 6-0.
JDCC will travel to Enterprise State today and be back home on Friday against Parkland Community College at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.

JDCC scored three first inning runs and two in the fifth while holding John Wood with one run in the second inning to improve to 8-13.
CaSandra Yarbrough took the win on the mound as she went four innings and allowing one run on four hits, two walks and struck out none.
Kristin Myers was 1-for-2 and Aleah Payne was 1-for-3. Lauren Marshall was 1-for-2 and Candice Lawrence was 2-for-3.
Elise Schanley was 1-for-2 with one RBI and Andrea Ruschel was 1-for-3 with two RBIs and a homerun.
Rebeccah Wright was 1-for-1 and Brittany McCastle was 1-for-1 with two RBIs.

JDCC took game two 4-2 to improve their record to 9-13.
Brittany Linton went the complete game on the mound allowing one earned run on four hits, walked none and struck out four.
Payne was 1-for-2 with a homerun and two RBIs. Haley Wilborn was 2-for-3 and Tiffany Duncan was 1-for-2.
Myers was 2-for-3 and Lawrence was 1-for-3 with one RBI. Schanley was 1-for-3 with one RBI and Ruschel was 1-for-3.
McCastle was 2-for-3 in the in for the Warhawks.
