Lady Tiger softball sweeps Bayside

The Lady Tiger softball team of T.R. Miller pounded area opponent Bayside Academy Friday on the road 20-0 and 12-4 to get a doubleheader sweep of the Lady Admirals.
The win for the Lady Tigers improved them to 12-3 overall and to 3-0 in area play.
In game one against Bayside Academy, the Lady Tigers used a six-run first inning, three runs in the second inning and an 11-run third to get the big win while holding Bayside scoreless.
Taylor Guthrie pitched the complete three inning game for T.R. Miller and allowed one hit, walked two and struck out four in the win.
At the plate, Leah Brundidge was 2-for-4 with a triple and a double and Natalie Neal was 3-for-4 with two doubles.
Guthrie was 3-for-4 with a double and Emily Waters was 2-for-3 along with Sarah Lee who was 1-for-3 with a double.
Teralyn Moore was 1-for-3 and Kristen Booker was 2-for-3. Michaela Stabler was 1-for-1 at the plate in the win as well.
In game two, the Lady Tigers led 5-4 after the third inning before scoring seven unanswered runs to get the win by eight.
Brundidge was 2-for-5 and Neal was 2-for-5 at the plate for the Lady Tigers with Guthrie going 2-for-5 with one homerun.
Waters was 2-for-5 along with Lee. Bostic was 1-for-4 and Moore was 1-for-5.
Booker was 3-for-4 and Laurel Billy was 2-for-4.
Guthrie and Billy combined for the win on the mound going seven innings allowing four hits and walks and striking out eight.
T.R. Miller was set to travel to Florala Tuesday and will take on Cottage Hill in an area game Thursday at home.
Game time is set for 4:30 p.m. at the Brewton Sports Park.
T.R. Miller’s JV team defeated W.S. Neal Middle School 20-10 Monday in East Brewton.
