Mr. Jose "Joe" Angel Bordayo Sr., 51, died Saturday, March 27, 2010, at his residence after a brief illness. He was a native of Lamesa, Texas, and a former resident of Odessa, Texas, before moving to Brewton in 1999. He was a laborer in the oil field industry and attended the Beulah Holiness Church.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda Ballard Bordayo of Brewton; a son, John Joseph (Jessica) Bordayo of Castleberry; two daughters, Elizabeth Renee "Lizzie" Bordayo of Brewton, and Claudia Bordayo of Odessa; two sisters, Janie Gamez of Odessa and Rosemary Bordayo of Lamesa; three grandchildren; his father-in-law, Charles Ballard of Castleberry; his mother-in-law, Melissa Ballard of Milton, Fla., several nieces, nephews and close friends.
Funeral services were held Thursday, April 1, at 1 p.m. at Craver's Funeral Home with Pastor Eddie Hammac and Pastor Cyril Hammac officiating. Burial followed at Weaver Cemetery on Appleton Road with Craver's Funeral Home directing.
