Teen charged in burglaries

A Brewton man teenager been arrested and charged as an adult with burglary after two alleged home invasions early Thursday morning — but more charges are pending as police investigate allegations of attempted rape.
At 2:23 a.m. Thursday, police responded to a burglary call at 108 Denard St. in Brewton. The homeowner told police a black male had entered her bedroom window and attempted to rape her. When the homeowner screamed, the suspect fled the residence on a bicycle.
Officers were still on the scene when they got a second call of a burglary on Cobb Street.
The homeowner there told police a suspect had entered her home through a kitchen window and tried to forcibly rape her.
Later that morning, police arrested Thomas Peterson, 17, of 115 Fleming Lane. Suarez said the Peterson has been charged as an adult with two counts of first-degree burglary. He was taken to the Escambia County Detention Center.
Suarez said the investigation is pending for further charges.
