Mr. John Lewis “Buster” King, 69, died Tuesday, April 6, 2010. He attended school at Southern Normal High School and worked at Brewton Fashions ‘Judy Bond’ for many years. He was also employed at Shaw of Andalusia for 15 years as a machine operator. He was preceded in death by his father, John King and a brother, Willie James King.
He is survived by his wife, Clara M. King of Brewton; his mother, Ivory Lee King of Brewton; five children, Sammie (Faye) Ball of Oxnard, Calif., Donnie (Chris) King of Newnan, Ga., Terry (Chauntae) King and Patrice (Earl) Lane, both of Brewton, and Debra (Lewis) Borwn of Omaha, Neb.; nine grandchildren, Ronesha Ball, Sabrina Ball, Matress Ball, Lester Ball, Eric Ball, Gary Ball, Jermaine Lane, Jazzlyn Brown and Deontre King; eight great-grandchildren; four sisters, Elizabeth (Herbert) Littles, Juanita (Allen) Rogers, JoAnn (Arthur) Brazile and Bertha (Jimmy) Oliver; one brother, Carlton (Phyllis) King; two godsons, Keyshawn Ball and Keondre Tolbert; nine sisters-in-law, Pinkie Autry, Mary (John) Wood, Minnie (Archie) Bradley, Magdlene (Johnny) Swaine, Lucy Allen, Dora King and Francine Archie; three brothers-in-law, Sam (Angretta) Brazile, Thomas (Sarah) Brazile and Phillip (Sue Ellen) Brazileand a host of other friends and family.
Funeral services were held Saturday, April 10, at 11 a.m. at Greater Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. J.F. Atkins officiating. Burial followed at Second Bethlehem Church Cemetery with Presley-Fluker Funeral Home directing.
