Homerun makes difference in JDCC loss to Enterprise

In a 12-inning game Thursday for the Jefferson Davis Community College Warhawk baseball team, the Warhawks lost 3-2 to Enterprise State.
JDCC head coach Darrell Blevins said a solo homerun for Enterprise in the top of the 11th inning was the difference in the game.
JDCC led 1-0 after the first inning before surrendering two runs to Enterprise to trail 2-1.
In the bottom of the ninth, JDCC tied the game at 2-2 before giving up one run in the top of the 12th inning.
Shane Ikner took the loss on the mound as he went one inning and allowed one run on two hits, walked none and struck out one.
King went 11 innings and allowed two runs on nine hits, walked one and struck out eight.
Xavier Cunningham was 1-for-1 and Drummonds was 2-for-3. Blake Long was 1-for-4 and Haring was 2-for-3 with one RBI. Taylor Register was 2-for-6 and Robbie Jernigan was 1-for-4. Reid Wynn was 2-for-4 with one RBI.
The loss dropped the Warhawks to 15-25 overall and to 9-14 in conference play.
