Mrs. Iris Mae Brown Ard, 90, of Madden Smith Loop died Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2010, at a local hospital after a brief illness. She was a native and former resident of Castleberry, before moving to Brewton seven years ago. She was a homemaker and a member of the Appleton Assembly of God Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Ard.

She is survived by a son, Coy (Debra) Ard of Castleberry; three daughters, Shirley (Robert) Madden and Mildred (Jimmy) Redash, both of Brewton, and Linda McGraw of East Brewton; nine grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Thursday, Nov. 4, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Craver’s Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Nov. 5, at 2 p.m. at Craver’s Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ernest Cofield and the Rev. Bobby Pitts officiating. Burial will follow at Holland Cemetery in Castleberry, with Craver’s Funeral Home directing.

Pallbearers were her grandsons and great grandson.
