Ms. Jean Marie Rambo, 72, died Thursday, Oct. 28, 2010. She was a student at Boykin School and attended Spelman College in Atlanta, Ga., which she entered at the age of 15. She earned her bachelor’s degree in natural sciences from Stillman College in Tuscaloosa. She taught school for 20 years in Atmore. She retired in 1980 and attended Calvary Presbyterian Church where she was very active.

She is survived by Caesar Webb Jr.; a daughter, Candice Michelle Rambo-Hinson (John); a brother, R. Harvey of Calif.; a great aunt, Carrie Lee Lovelace of Brewton; a host of cousins, friends, and other family members.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 6, at 2 p.m. at First Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Leon Thomas officiating. Burial followed at the church cemetery with Presley-Fluker Funeral Home directing.
