Mrs. Frances Tanner Bowers, 79, died Sunday, Dec. 19, 2010 in McDavid. She was a native of Mobile, and a former resident of Pensacola, Fla., and a resident of McDavid since 1978. She attended the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph T. Bowers, a grandson, Patrick Thomas Bowers and her parents, Mattie and Curt Brown.
She is survived by six daughters, Cheryl Findley and Vicki R. Bowers, both of McDavid, Joy (John) O’Farrell of Daphne, Lori (Matt) Brabham and Katrina (Tim) Roberts, both of Jay, Fla. and Susan Bowers Prime and Freddie Goodwin of Brewton; 10 grandchildren, Jerome (Catherine) Bowers and Derek Bowers, both of McDavid, Ryan O’Farrell of Rockledge, Fla., Timmy O’Farrell of Auburn, Robert Brabham, Steven Brabham, Joseph Roberts and Jacob Roberts, all of Jay, and  Alanna Bowers and Malachi Prime, both of Brewton.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Dec. 22, at 10 a.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Elder Harold Brown officiating. Burial followed at Ray’s Chapel Cemetery with Petty Funeral Home directing.
