Mrs. Channie L. Samuel, 73, died Dec. 19, 2010. She was preceded in death by her husbands, William Moye and Otis Samuel; a son, Willie Earl Brazile Sr.; two brothers, Arthur B. Brazile Sr. and Floyd Brazile; and a sister, Bessie Spears.

She is survived by her daughter, Barbara McCreary of Brewton; a step-daughter, Bertha Motley of Century, Fla.; a step-son, Orlando Richardson of Brewton; two sisters, Mami Floyd of Brewton, and Mary Charles (Herman) Thompson of Fresno, Calif.; a brother, Willis Brazile of San Diego, Calif.; a son-in-law, Larry McCreary; a daughter-in-law, Genice Brazile; 12 sisters-in-law, Lillie Pearl Brazile, Myrtle Davis, Shirley Townsend, Sondra Baskin, Eunice (Richard) Williams, Addie Benjamin, Erleen Likely, Cleo Williams, Viola Jackson, Nora Carr and Minnie (Willie) Williams; six brothers-in-law, Leonard Townsend, Charles Townsend, Herbert Townsend, Horace Townsend, Tony Townsend, and Sylvester (Sandra) Samuels; eight grandchildren, Johnnie (Tia) Williams of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Kenneth (Angela) Brazile, Tinita McFugerson, Belinda Brazile, Willie Brazile Jr., Latoya McCreary and Leslie McCreary of Brewton and a devoted niece, Mary Brazile of Brewton; 12 step-grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Dec. 23, at 2 p.m. at Greater Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. J.J. Atkins officiating. Burial followed at Second Bethlehem Church Cemetery with Presley-Fluker Funeral Home directing.
