Mr. Jessie J.C. Clayton Williams, 92, of Pine Street died Friday, Dec. 31, 2010 in a local nursing facility after a brief illness. He was a native of Cordele, Ga., and a former resident of Mobile, before moving to Brewton in 1961. He was a member of Alco Baptist Church, A U.S. Navy veteran, member of the Masonic Lodge, Member of Escambia County Rescue Squad, Owned Brewton Equipment Company, and he Built and Opened WEBJ and Greenville Radio Stations. He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Kraker Williams and a son, Donald Scott Williams.

He is survived by two daughters, Hazel Williams (Don) Carter of Brewton and Ginger (David) Gill of Eufaula; four grandchildren, Candice (Richard) Shaughnessy of Troy, Brandalyn (Neil) Jackson of Brewton, Abbie Howard of Manasses, Va., and Bryan (Sarah) Gill of Memphis, Tenn.; and many other family members and friends.

Visitation was held Sunday, Jan. 2, from 2 to 3 p.m. at Brooklyn Baptist Church in Brooklyn.

Funeral Services were held Sunday, Jan. 2, at 3 p.m. at Brooklyn Baptist Church with the Rev. Bryan Gill officiating. Burial will follow in Brooklyn Cemetery with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
