Mr. Homer Sidney Laster Jr., 70, of Castleberry died Tuesday Jan. 18, 2011 at his residence after a brief illness. He was a native and life long resident of Castleberry, and was retired from CSX Railroad in the bridge repair department.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Kast Laster of Castleberry; a son, Steve (Ruby) Laster of Castleberry; a daughter, Rhonda Laster of Castleberry; three sisters, Ruby Bradley of Lenox, Ardell Hammonds of Semmes and Ethel Heaton of Robertsdale; three grandchildren, Nikki (Shannon) Coleman, Hunter Hanks and Landon Salter; two step-grandsons and three step great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Thursday, January 20, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, January 21, at 2 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Cooper officiating. Burial will follow at New Hopewell Cemetery in Castleberry with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
