Bessie Lou Taylor Middleton

Mrs. Bessie Lou Taylor Middleton, 93, of Shoffner Street, died Saturday, Feb. 26, 2011 at a local nursing facility after a brief illness. She was a native of Lyeffion and a former resident of Monroeville before moving to Escambia County more than 60 years ago. She was a homemaker and attened the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernie Middleton.
She is survived by a son, Julius (Marolyn) Middleton of Jay, Fla.; three daughters, Emmie (Jack) Smith of Castleberry, Ernestine (Dennis) Snell of Dothan, and Brenda (Larry) Harrison of Jay; two sisters, Jeanette (Frank) Stoshak of Brewton, and Peggy Mitz of Wilmington, N.C.; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, Feb. 28, at 1 p.m. at Craver’s Funeral Home chapel with Elder Ed Adams officiating. Burial followed at Fort Crawford Cemetery in East Brewton, with Craver’s Funeral Home directing.
