Roland Lee Varner Jr.

Mr. Roland Lee Varner Jr., 50, of Cooper Cemetery Road, died  Saturday, Feb. 26, 2011 after a brief illness. He was a native and life long resident of Conecuh County. He attended South Alabama Worship Center and was employed as a tankerman on a tug boat. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lucy Kate Lucas Varner and Roland Lee Varner Sr., and a brother, James Hubert Varner.
He is survived by his wife, Diane Varner of Castleberry; a son Jody (Tiffany) Capers of Brewton; four daughters, Tomeeka (Steven) Briggs of East Brewton, Lori (Tim) Odom of Castleberry, and Charlie Annette Sands and Darlennia Rooney, both of Mobile; a brother, Larry Lee Varner of Brewton; three sisters, Linda Gail Hall of East Brewton, Mary Louise Varner of Brewton, and Debbie (George) Meyers of Jones, Ala.; 11
grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Darlene Anthony of East Brewton and Dale (Johnnie) Rogers of Oklahoma; two brothers-in-law, Tom Pettie of Brewton and Randy Pettie of Georgiana; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 2, at
11 a.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Massingill officiating. Burial will follow at Cooper Cemetery with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
