Mr. George W. Howard Jr., 82, of Dadeville, formerly of Brewton, died Monday, March 7, 2011, at his residence following a brief illness. He was a member of the Red Ridge United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jane Howard.
He is survived by his children, Karen (Wayne) Moseley of Newnan, Ga., Mark (Donna) Howard of Portland, Ore., Eric Howard and Scot (Deborah) Howard of Dadeville; his grandchildren, Joel and Sarah Beth Moseley, Jarrod and Shelby Howard, Tyler Howard, and Travis Howard. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters, Allen (Bettye) Howard, Amy Howard (Lamar) Salter of Port Wentworth, Ga., Christine Howard Wise of Brunswick, Ga., Bertie Howard (Julian) Mims of Burlington, N.C., Ellis (Annette) Howard of Beulaville, N.C., and Sidney (Charlene) Howard of Kingsland, Ga.
Funeral services were held Thursday, March 10, at 2 p.m. at the Red Ridge United Methodist Church in Dadeville. Burial followed at the Alabama Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens with Alabama Funeral Home directing.
