Henry Clay Morris

Mr. Henry Clay Morris, 66, died Friday, March 18, 2011, in Clayton. He was a native of Jay, Fla., a former resident of Flomaton, and a resident of Clayton since 1995. He was a carpenter and attended the Assembly of God Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Luey Morris and Leona Boutwell; a brother, James Morris and a stepson, John Merritt.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Morris of Clayton; three stepsons, Lee Merritt of Pollard, James (Amanda) Merritt of Blue Springs, and Robert Merritt of Ozark; a daughter, Kelly Burkett of Pensacola, Fla.; his stepdaughter, Christine (John)Curtis of Flomaton; seven grandchildren, Lloyd Curtis, Shana Merritt Lambeth, Travis Merritt, Jacob Merritt, Josh Merritt, Allisia Merritt and Zach Merritt; three great-grandchildren; Timothy Lee Boggs, Johnathan Taylor Curtis and Anna Grace Merritt; two brothers, J.W. and Levone Morris, both of Century, Fla. and a sister, Darlene Morris of Jay.
Funeral services were held Monday, March 21, at 3 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Sister Mattie Mock and Sister Fannie Wright officiating. Burial followed at Flomaton Cemetery with Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers were Lee Merritt, James Merritt, Travis Merritt, Lloyd Curtis, Jake Merritt, Josh Merritt, Robbie Merritt and Zach Merritt.
