Mrs. Marie Ates Franklin, 91, died Friday, March 18, 2011. She was a native of New Orleans, La. and grew up in Jackson, Miss. She was a former resident of Milton, Fla. and a resident of Knoxville since 2000. She was retired from AT&T after 40 years of service and was preceded in death by her husband, E.Y. ‘Sug’ Franklin.

She is survived by many nieces and nephews in Brewton and her special family, Mary Catherine Luker, William and Liza Luker, all of Brewton, and Catherine Westbrook of Newark, Del. and her children.

Visitation will be held Friday March 25, from 10 until 11a.m..

at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.
