Samuel ‘Sam’ Culliver

Mr. Samuel ‘Sam’ Culliver, 61, died June 1, 2011. He was a native and resident of Escambia County. He was a faithful member of Second Bethlehem Baptist Church, was a 1967 graduate of Southern Normal School, and attended Jefferson Davis Community College. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and was employed by Georgia Pacific. He was preceded in death by his parents, John David and Minnie Mae Jackson Culliver.
He is survived by his wife, Lauretta Culliver of Brewton; a daughter, Samantha Culliver of Brewton; a son, Michael Culliver of Troy; two brothers, Howard Culliver and John Mack (Minne) Culliver, both of Brewton; two sisters, Ethel Bell Williams of Brewton, and Gloria (Leslie) Thomas of Piscataway, N.J.; an uncle, Henry M. (Amanda) Jackson of Mobile; two aunts, Mary S. Culliver of Brewton, and Mary F. Culliver of Mobile; four sisters-in-law, Annie Bell (Andrew Lee) Franklin of Mansfield, Ohio, Eura Bell Johnson, Mary (Dwight) Gill and Connie Williams, all of Pensacola, Fla.; two brothers-in-law, Beamon Williams of Evergreen and Clifford (Geraldine) Williams of Atlanta, Ga. and many other friends and relatives.
Funeral services were held Saturday, July 9, at 11 a.m. at Second Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Cartez Hall officiating. Burial followed at the church cemetery with Presley-Fluker Funeral Home directing.
