Mrs. Ann Salter Johnston, 85, of Brewton, died August 13, 2011, in Alexandria, La. She was a native and long time resident of Georgiana, and had been a resident of Brewton. She was a graduate of Huntingdon College in Montgomery. She had been a social worker for the Department of Pensions and Security for many years, and had been in real estate for several years. She was a member of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Robert Duncan Johnston; her parents, Zema G. Salter and Mattie Lee Salter; and her sister, Helen C. Salter.
She is survived by daughters, Mattie Ann Johnston Fall (Wally), and Nancy Johnston Belanger (Bubba); sons Robert D. Johnston, Jr. (Mollie), and George S. Johnston (Libba); and by eight grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 19, at 10 a.m. at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, with the Rev. Marshall Craver officiating. Visitation will follow at the family home.
