Carole Munro Franklin, 73, passed away Monday, Oct. 3, 2011, in Bartow. Born in Chicago, on Feb. 22, 1938, she moved to Florida in 1964. She was a homemaker and a member of the Christian Home Freewill Baptist Church in Bartow. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rhett Franklin, and a son, Michael Franklin.

She is survived by three daughters, Susie Leggett and husband Dale of Brewton, Beth Palmer and husband Reggie of Bartow, and Rose Dollar and husband Kirby of Smiths; two sons, Johnny Franklin and wife Mildred of Brewton, and Randy Franklin and wife Stephanie of Bartow; one sister, Nancy Glisson of Tennessee; three brothers, John Munro, Don Munro and Patrick Munro all of Illinois; 36 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Thursday, Oct. 6, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home in Bartow, Funeral services will follow visitation at 11 a.m. Burial will be held Saturday, oct. 8 at 10 a.m. at Red Oak Cemetery in Escambia Farms, Fla.
