Dartha ‘Dot’ Ryals Richardson

Mrs. Dartha “Dot” Ryals Richardson, 72, of North Charleston, S.C., passed away Monday, Oct. 31, 2011 at a Charleston, S.C., health care facility.
She was born in Castleberry and had been living in North Charleston for the past three months, coming from Box Springs, Ga., and Brewton.  She was a homemaker and attended Edgewood Baptist Church and Upatoi Methodist Church and was a member of Box Springs Ladies Auxiliary.  She was preceded in death by her husbands, Thomas Jones and Phillip Richardson, III; her parents, Clavorn and Janie Ryals; sister, Ethelene Golden; and niece, Darlene Morris.
She is survived by two sons, Michael (Darlene) Powell of N. Charleston, S.C., and Clay (Jenny) Martin of Seale; two daughters, Renee (Ed) Howington of Brewton, and Diann (Willie) Prince of Griffin, Ga.; one brother, Buck (Martha) Ryals of Mobile; three sisters, Doris Morris, Elizabeth Madden and Bonnie Godwin, all of Brewton; 12 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Craver’s Funeral Home on U.S. 31 South in Brewton from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 3.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Nov. 4 at 11 a.m. from the chapel of Craver’s Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Yuhasz officiating. Burial will follow in Weaver Cemetery with Craver’s Funeral Home in charge of all arrangements.
