Mrs. Susie Reed Kirksey, 85, died Saturday, Nov. 12, 2011. She and her late husband ran Kirksey’s Grocery in Castleberry. She was also employed by the United States Post Office as a mail carrier. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Henry Kirksey; her granddaughter, Kristie Kirksey McKeough and two brothers, Clayton Reed and W.J. Reed.
She is survived by three sons, Titus (Etta) Kirksey of Pace, Fla., and Buddy (Margie) Kirksey  and Tim (Gayle) Kirksey, both of Castleberry; two daughters, Nancy (Dickie) Smothers of Pensacola, and Lillie (Billy) Brown of Castleberry; four grandsons; five granddaughters, seven great-grandsons; 11 great-grandaughers; one great-great-granddaugher; and two brothers, Wes Reed of Pensacola, and Robert Reed of Brewton.
Funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 14, with Cope Funeral Home directing.
