Robert ‘Rob’ Byrd Reed

Mr. Robert “Rob” Byrd Reed, 80, of Foshee Road died Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2011 at his residence after a brief illness. He was a native and former resident of Conecuh County, and a long time resident of Brewton. He was a member of Pollard United Methodist Church, a member and former chief of McCall Volunteer Fire Department since 1983, and retired from Alston Electric with 18 years of service.
He is survived by his wife, Boots Reed of Brewton; his son, Doug (Donna Silcox) Reed of Uriah; two daughters,  Shelby (Harold) Sellers of Brewton, and Beth (Tony) Bell of Walnut Hill, Fla.; a brother, Wesley Reed of Navarre, Fla.; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and his mother-in-law, Mabel Brantley of Brewton.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, Nov. 16, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 17, at 2 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Adam Armstrong officiating. Burial will follow at Catawba Springs Cemetery with Williams Memorial Chapel directing.
