Mrs. Voncile Edith Emmons, 78, died Monday, Jan. 9, 2012 at her Brewton residence. She was a lifelong resident of Escambia County, a homemaker and a member of New Hopewell Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hanis Emmons; a daughter, Clara Gafford; and a grandson, Wesley Howe.
She is survived by a son, Billy Ray (Kathy) Emmons of Brewton; two daughters, Barbara Nelson of Bradley, and Sandra Emmons of Wetumpka; three brothers, Howard (Carolyn) Henry, and Hayward (Bonnie) Henry, both of Brewton, and Hardy (Amy) Henry of Picayune, Miss.; nine grandchildren;  eight great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews and other family members.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Jan. 12, at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Craver’s Funeral Home with the Rev. James Dewitt officiating. Burial followed in New Hopewell Cemetery with Craver’s Funeral Home directing. Please share your memories and condolences with the family at www.craversfh.com.
