Mr. Willie Morris Benson, 79, died Monday, Jan. 30, 2012 in a local hospital. He was a native of Georgiana, and a resident of Flomaton. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hilary and Jessie Bell Benson; three sisters, Cora Lee Ellis, Myrtle Lee Rhodes and Lilly Bell Marshall; and three brothers, J.D. Benson, Hilary Benson Jr. and Willie Lee Benson.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Esther Benson of Flomaton; three sisters, Minnie (Robert) Price, and Arthurine Price, both of Flomaton, and Mary Matthew of Brewton; four daughters, Janice Ware of Flomaon, and Annie Jones, Jackie Benson and Willie C. (Jeffrey) Spears, all of Brewton; three sons, Willie M. (Necie) Benson Jr. of Century, Fla., and Tommy (Karen) Benson and Theodore (Carla) Benson, both of Flomaton; 15 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; four sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law; two brother-in-laws; and a host of other friends and relatives.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 4, at 11 a.m. at Fannie Cemetery with Minister Ella Williams officiating and Christian Memorial Home directing
