Mrs. Elsie Marie Shipp O’Loughlin, 79, died Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2012 in a local nursing facility after a brief illness. She was a native of Castleberry, and a former resident of San Francisco, Calif., where she was a secretary/inspector in the insurance industry, before returning to Castleberry, Alabama in 1987. She was a member of Cedar Creek Baptist Church.
She is survived by two brothers, Lawrence Shipp of East Brewton, and Moore (Louise) Shipp of Castleberry; and a number of nieces and nephews, including Mary E. Stacey of Castleberry.
Visitation was held Saturday, Feb. 18, from 12 until 2 p.m. at Cedar Creek Baptist Church in Castleberry.
Funeral services were held Saturday, February 18, at 2 p.m. at Cedar Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Jacob Morgan and the Rev. Bob Godbee officiating. Burial will followed in Cedar Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
