Duane Jordan Barrentine

Mrs. Duane Jordan Barrentine, 90, died Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2012 in a local hospital after a brief illness. She was a native and former resident of East Brewton, and a long time resident of Brewton. She was a member of the East Brewton First United Methodist Church and owner/operator of Barrentine Grocery Store for 28 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas L. ‘Buddy’ Barrentine.
She is survived by a son, Tommy (Pat) Barrentine of Brewton; five daughters, Valeria Blackmon of Milton, Fla., Retha (L.C.) Mancil of Dothan, Martie ‘Bones’ Steele of Brewton, Deborah (Johnny) Fuqua of Piedmont, and Janice (Rodney) Green of Flomaton;
a brother, John H. Jordan, Jr. of Picayune, Miss.; 16 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 2, at 2 p.m. at East Brewton First Methodist Church with the Rev. George Weaver officiating. Burial followed at Green Acres Cemetery with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
