Murray Allen Stinson

Mr. Murray Allen Stinson, 87, of Oak Ridge Place, died Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at a local nursing facility after a brief illness. He was a native and former resident of Evergreen, before moving to Brewton in 1958. He was a retired school administrator with W.S. Neal Elementary School, and a long time minister. He was a member of Brewton Church of Christ, and had served in the U.S. Army and Merchant Marines. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Dewayne Clark Jr.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Elois W. Stinston of Brewton; a daughter, Marie (Terry) Clark of East Brewton; two sisters, Wilma Cooper of Clinton, Miss., and Juanita Worlund of Santa Rosa Beach, Fla.; a granddaughter, Jennifer (J.D.) Zeiler of Tyrone, Ga.; two great-grandchildren, Hannah Zeiler and David Clark Zeiler; and many other family members and friends.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 28, at 10 a.m. at Craver’s Funeral Home chapel with Minister Pete Davis officiating. Burial will follow  at Green Acres Memorial Gardens with Craver’s Funeral Home directing. Active pallbearers were Johnny Crutchfield, Donnie Crutchfield, Jeff Kirkland, Jeff Holmes, Pat Jarvis and Speedy Nelson. Honorary pallbearers were Roy Wedell, Roger Chapman, Charles Coale, Henry Uptagraft, Larry Heaton, Steve Lambert and Larry Peterson.
