Sylvia Marie Grice

Sylvia Marie Grice, 72, died Thursday, April 11, 2013 at a Centerville hospital. She was a native and long-time resident of Brewton before moving to West Blocton three years ago. She worked as an administrator for the Damascus Head Start program for a number of years and was a member of the New Life Church in Brewton.

She is surivived by three sons, Tom (Patricia) Cole of West Blocton, Wayne Pugh and Tony Ray Cole, both of Brewton; two daughters, Phyllis C. Kirby of East Brewton and Sandra Bell of Jay, Fla.; one brother, Floyd (Sue) Grice of East Brewton; 15 grandchildren, Tracey Hammac, Troy Merchant, Jon Whiddon, Ty Hayes, Benjamin Cole, Patsy Cole, Alicia Cole, Suzie Cole, Kerri Montgomery, Daisy Cole, Joey Weaver, Chris Crumpton, Josh Crumpton, Raven Paxton, Summer Miller; and 22 great-grandchildren; two nephews, Brad Grice and Russell Grice; one niece, Brooke Glass; and many family members and friends.

Visitation will be held at Craver’s Funeral Home Saturday, April 13 from 6 to 8 p.m.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 14 at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Craver’s Funeral Home with the Rev. Reggie Whiddon officiating.  Burial will follow in Fort Crawford Cemetery in East Brewton.
