Ernest Melvin McDonald
Mr. Ernest Melvin McDonald, 66, East Brewton, died Thursday, Nov. 14, 2013, in a Birmingham hospital after a brief illness.
Mr. McDonald was a native and lifelong resident of Escambia County and a member of Ridge Road Baptist Church. He was a 1965 graduate of W.S. Neal High School and a U.S. Army National Guard Veteran, having served in Desert Shield and Desert Storm. He also was a member of the American Legion and a retired life insurance salesman.
Mr. McDonald is survived by his wife, Tamara Pritchett McDonald; one son, Scott McDonald of Evergreen; one daughter, Kelly (Jason) Norris of Pace, Fla.; two step-children, Justin Kendrick of Repton and Kaylee Kendrick of East Brewton; two brothers, Ray (Faithe) McDonald of Milton, Fla., and Lee McDonald of East Brewton; four grandchildren, Talyia Joyner, Tylan McDonald, Ethan Norris, and Riley Norris; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Sunday, Nov. 17, 2013, from 6 until 8 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.
Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, Nov. 18, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. Lee Cadenhead officiating. Interment will follow in Green Acres Cemetery with full military honors and Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
