While Alabama High School Athletic Association football coaches across the state have been busy trying to lock down non-region football games for their teams, one non-region game has been set for the T.R. Miller Tigers.
According to our sister paper, the Andalusia Star-News, T.R. Miller will meet Andalusia for their season opener on Aug. 22.
T.R. Miller and Andalusia last met in 2011 when the Bulldogs routed the Tigers 35-10 in Brewton.
Andalusia owns a 26-23-1 record over the Tigers and have outscored T.R. Miller 904-830 in the series.
The two teams met annually for 12 straight years from 1986-1997 and from 1955-1966.

According to T.R. Miller head coach Jamie Riggs, he is still working on his team’s schedule for the upcoming season. The same goes for W.S. Neal head coach Doug Hoehn.
Both T.R. Miller and W.S. Neal will keep their annual rivalry going as they will play the Battle of Murder Creek in the final game of the season on Oct. 31.
Both T.R. Miller and W.S. Neal will play Escambia County of Atmore as one of their non-region games. Hoehn said he has Atmore scheduled for week two of the season. With W.S. Neal and Atmore playing week two (Aug. 29), T.R. Miller will play Atmore week five (Sept. 26).
If the current scheduling rotation for T.R. Miller’s games against W.S. Neal and Atmore stay intact, T.R. Miller would travel to Atmore in 2014 after hosting the Blue Devils this past season. W.S. Neal would travel to Brewton Municipal Stadium to play the Tigers after T.R. Miller played at W.S. Neal during the 2013 season.
For T.R. Miller, that only leaves their week two game left to be decided upon as a non-region game as the other weeks would have to be region games. One week would be an open week from region play for the Tigers due to only have a six-game region schedule.

Here is the new football region for the Eagles of East Brewton:
-Clarke County
-Monroe County
-Satsuma
-Southside-Selma
-Thomasville
-UMS-Wright

Here is the new football region for the Tigers of T.R. Miller:
-Bayside Academy
-Cottage Hill
-Excel
-Geneva
-Hillcrest-Evergreen
-Opp

Schools now can have 11 dates to play 10 game beginning August 21 and 22. Schools can option to play a scrimmage game in week 1, but if no scrimmage game occurs in week 1, they will have 10 dates to play 10 games.
Non-region dates will be weeks 1,2, 6, and 11 with region dates set for weeks 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9 and 10.
All playoff games will begin at the same time with class 7A having an open week the week of the semifinals for all other classes.
The class Super 7 championship game will begin on Wednesday at 3 p.m.
As soon as information is known of the upcoming football schedules for both T.R. Miller and W.S. Neal, the Brewton Standard will post them ASAP.
