Carolyn Christine Lee Galyean
Gonzales, La.

Carolyn Christine Lee Galyean went to be with the Lord on April 25, 2015, in Gonzales, La.
She was born on June 21, 1937, to parents Claude and Carlie (White) Lee in Escambia County.
She was a long time resident of Cantonment, Fla., and enjoyed a long career at Monsanto in Pensacola, Fla., where she retired as a research and development laboratory technician, proprietor of Clola’s Beauty World, a member of Eastern Star and a life member of Gravel Hill Baptist Church in Escambia County.
She was dedicated to the Lord and to caring for and spoiling her mother. She was known by her friends, family and acquaintances for her independence and fierce determination.
She never lost these qualities and they served her well.
She was preceded in death by husband, Larry Galyean; her parents, and three siblings, Clyde Lee, Clifford Lee and Clola Lee.
She is survived by her sister, Clarene Crowhurst of Hockley, Texas, and several nieces, nephews and friends.
Special thanks to the many caregivers who assisted her in her last years, particularly the Staff at Arrington Assisted Living at Plantation Pointe (Columbus, Miss.), Magnolia Assisted Living (Gonzales, La.), and Amedisys Hospice.
Internment at Gravel Hill Baptist Church, in Escambia County.

Sidney Craig Thornton
East Brewton

Sidney Craig Thornton, 55, of Florida Street in East Brewton, passed away Wed., March 4, 2015, in a local nursing facility after a brief illness.
He was a native of Brewton and a long time resident of East Brewton.
He was a graduate of Flomaton High School and a formerly employed in the residential construction industry.
He is survived by one son, Alexander Craig Bond of Oklahoma; three brothers, James Thornton of Knoxville, Tenn., John Thornton of Brewton and Glen Thornton of Lapine; one sister, Sabra Thornton of St. George Island, Fla.; and 12 nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Sarah Eiland Thornton; and a brother, Mike Thornton.
A family memorial service will be held at a later date.

William Donald
‘Don’ Marion

Brewton

William Donald ‘Don’ Marion, 59, passed away Sun., May 17, 2015, in Opelika.
He was born in Sapporo, Japan, and had been a resident of Brewton for the past 38 years, coming from Phoenix, Ariz.
He was a HAM radio enthusiast, a U.S. Army veteran and a member of Appleton Free Will Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his father, Earnest Marion.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Faye Hall Marion of Brewton; his mother, Betty Lou Reed of Beaverton, Ore.; one son, Chase Marion of Brewton; three daughters, Angela (Al) Ward of Pollard, Carrie (Wayne) Sharp of Minneola, Kan., and Wendy (Rusty) Burroughs of Opelika; one brother, Tom Marion of Ariz.; two sisters, Sharon Durley of Phoenix, Ariz., and Barbara Dahne of Portland, Ore.; and four grandchildren, Ashlynn and Nathan Ward, Anna Burroughs, and Trenton Sharp.
Funeral services were held on Tues., May 19, at 10 a.m. from the chapel of Craver’s Funeral Home with the Rev. Bobby Burroughs officiating
Interment followed in New Hopewell Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Tim Marion, Ollie Marion, Patrick Marion, Kevin Hall, Josh Kaufman and Kody Kaufman.
