Thomas Mason Cheatham Sr.
Pensacola, Fla.

Thomas Mason Cheatham Sr., 89, passed away Sun., Aug. 9, 2015, at his Pensacola, Fla. residence.
He was born in Brewton, and had been a resident of Pensacola, Fla., since 1958. He was a veteran of World War II, having served with the U.S. Army. During his working years, he was an inspector for a pole and lumber company. He was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby Cheatham of Pensacola, Fla.; a son, Thomas (Nadine) Cheatham of Pensacola, Fla.; a daughter, Sarah (Donald) Turner of Crestview, Fla.; two sisters, Evelyn Dixon and Ruth Hendricks, both of Pensacola, Fla.; four grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Tues., Aug. 11, at 10 a.m. from the chapel of Craver’s Funeral Home with the Rev. Troy Turner officiating. Burial followed in Weaver Cemetery.

Mitzi Ann Rabon Jackson, 34, passed away Thurs., Aug. 6, 2015, at her Castleberry residence.
She was born in Brewton and had been a life-long resident of Castleberry and Franklin. She was a homemaker and attended Divine Temple Church.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Charles T. Watson, and paternal grandparents, R.J. and Ruby Rabon.
She is survived by her husband, James “Tank” Jackson of Castleberry; her mother, Charlotte (Donnie) Green of East Brewton; her father Lester (Susan) Rabon of East Brewton; maternal grandmother, Ruby Watson of Brewton; four sons, Blake (Alie) Addison of East Brewton, Anthony Taylor Acreman of East Brewton, Johnathan Logan Acreman of Franklin and Ethan Cole Acreman of Franklin; one daughter, Haley Breana Acreman of Excel; one brother, Lester Austin Rabon of East Brewton; two sisters, Brooke Elizabeth Rabon of East Brewton, Victoria Madison Rabon of East Brewton; five step-sisters, Christy Marie Sawyer of Brewton, Samantha LeAnn Cain of Evergreen, Valerie Susan Adkins of East Brewton, Christine Hope Green of Brewton and Cassandra Faith Green of Brewton; one grandson, Gabrielle Kennedy and the fathers of her children, Daniel Addison and John Acreman.
Funeral services will be held Wed., Aug. 10, at 10 a.m. from the chapel of Craver’s Funeral Home with the Rev. Doug Greer officiating. Interment will follow in Buffington Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Bufford Varner, Austin Rabon, Blake Addison, Taylor Acreman, Darroll Rabon and Justin Baker. Honorary pallbearers are Ethan Acreman and Al Dyess.

Jackie Barnett Bradshaw
Pell City

Jackie Barnett Bradshaw, 59, passed away Fri., Aug. 7, 2015.
She is survived by her husband, Wayne Bradshaw; parents, E.C. and Opal Barnett; two sons, Jeremy (Amanda) Miniard and Lavon (Danielle) Miniard; one step-son, Adam (Tera) Bradshaw; one step-daughter, Maryann (Mike) Shaw; one sister, Metra (Guy) Sawyer; and eight grandchildren, Jasmine, Courtney, Brittany, Michael, Logan, Paris, Ethan and Elise.
Services were held Mon., Aug. 10, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Gordon Lee and the Rev. John Maddox officiating.
Internment followed at Bowman Cemetery with Usrey Funeral Home, LLC., in Pell City officiating.

Pamela Ann Gantt Blackburn
Crestview, Fla.

Pamela Ann Gantt Blackburn, loving mother, sister and daughter, passed away in the presence of her family on Sat., Aug. 8, 2015, after a long battle with illness.
Born May 2, 1954, she was predeceased by her father, Oliver Pollard Gantt, of Brewton.
Left to mourn her passing are a big family who will miss her forever, including her daughter, Beth Blackburn Marky and husband, Josh, of Crestview, Fla.; her son, Sam Blackburn and grandson, Logan Blackburn of Pace, Fla.; her mother, Gloether Gantt; brother Mike Gantt both of Brewton; her sister Jan Hart and husband, Tom, of Fort Myers, Fla.; her aunts Loretta Gantt and JoAnn Williams, her aunts and uncles, Billy and Virginia Gantt and Phil Junior and Susan Gantt, as well as dozens of other Gantt and Freeman family members—29 of whom are first cousins and her many friends in the medical community.
She graduated from T.R. Miller High School and the nursing school at Jefferson Davis Community College.
While serving in the obstetrics departments of three hospitals she assisted in the delivery of hundreds of new babies. Most recently she worked at North Okaloosa Medical Center in Crestview, Fla., where she was honored by the hospital as Nurse of the Year.
Interment will be private. The family will celebrate her life at a future gathering, the date and place to be later determined.

Dr. Warren Marshall Ringsdorf, III
Brewton

Dr. Warren Marshall Ringsdorf III., 57, of Buddy Lake Road in Brewton, passed away Sun., Aug. 2, 2015, at his parents resdence after an extended illness.
He was a native of Goldsboro, N.C., a former resident of Birmingham, before moving to Brewton 15 years ago.
He attended Briarwood Christian High School in Birmingham, Montevallo College, CBN College in Virginia Beach, Va.,, and Life College in Marietta, Ga.
He was a member of the Grace Fellowship Church in Atmore, where he was very active in all church activities and owned Ringsdorf Chiropractic Center.
He enjoyed playing guitar and singing all music.
He is survived by his parents, Dr. Warren Marshall Ringdorf Jr. and Doris Carpenter Ringsdorf of Brewton; one sister, Valerie (Greg) Bigger of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; and one nephew, William Bigger of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.
Memorial services will be held Sat., Aug. 15, 2015, at 10 a.m. at The Grace Fellowship Church located at 1412 East Nashville Avenue in Atmore, with Pastor Gene King officiating and Williams Memorial Chapel Funer Home directing.

Nellie France Gayles Kendall
Huntsville

Nellie Frances Gayles Kendall, 86, of Archer Drive S W in Huntsville, passed away Fri., Aug. 7, 2015, in a Huntsville hospital after a brief illness.
She was a native of Dale County and a former resident of Damascus, and a long time resident of Huntsville. She was a member of Harmony Baptist Church in Toney, a former member of the American Legion, and a homemaker.
She is survived by two sons, Charles (Sandra) Kendall of Toney and Van Kendall of Hazel Green; and two grandchildren, Michael Haveard and Mallory Kendall.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Kendall, and her daughter, Becky Haveard.
Funeral services were held Mon., Aug. 10, at 11 a.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home. Interment followed in Damascus Cemetery in Brewton with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Brewton directing.

Annie Lou McLain Godwin

Annie Lou McLain Godwin, 89, of Hwy. 31 in Brewton, passed away Thurs., Aug. 6, 2015, in a local nursing facility after a brief illness.
She was a native of Chapman, a former resident of Atmore, and a longtime resident of Brewton. She was a member of the Canoe Baptist Church, attended school in Atmore and was a caregiver to the sick and a homemaker.
She is survived by two sons, Billy Wayne (Jerry) Godwin of Castleberry, LeRoy (Wanda) Weaver of Brewton; one daughter, Francis Godwin (Mayhew) Lucas of Damascus; one brother, Dennis (Faye) McLain of Georgia; one sister, Gladys (Clyde) Helton of Atmore; five grandchildren, Chris (Stacie) Godwin, Candy Godwin, Wendy (Rodney) Williamson, Kristy (Johnny) Godwin, Leigh (Nigel) Freeman; and 11 great-grandchildren, Blake Godwin, Will Godwin, Cameron Godwin, Casey Godwin, John (Kathryn) West, R.J. Lucas, Catherine Lucas, Kailey Freeman, Tera Freeman, Roxas Freeman and Weaver Freeman.
Funeral services were held Sun., Aug. 9, at 2 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Gene Pickern officiating.
Internment followed in Serenity Gardens Cemetery in Atmore with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Brewton directing.

Grover ‘Shelton’ Dewberry

Grover “Shelton” Dewberry, 74, a native of Castleberry and a resident of Spanish Fort, died Wed., Aug. 5, 2015, at his residence with his family at his side.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Mamie Dewberry.
He is survived by his loving wife, Karen Dewberry; son, Michael (Donna) Dewberry; granddaughter, Taylor Dewberry, all of Spanish Fort; brothers, Shadrack Dewberry of Bay Minette, Lloyd Dewberry of Spanish Fort, Jerry Dewberry of Mexia, Randy Dewberry of Brewton; sister, Shirley Ruthowski of Minnesota; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Sat., Aug., 8, at 11 a.m. at Spanish Fort United Methodist Church. Interment followed in Jubilee Memorial Gardens.

Carrie Isabelle Douglas Moffett
Brewton

Carrie Isabelle Douglas Moffett, 83, of Emmons Road in Brewton, passed away Mon., Aug. 3, 2015, in a Pensacola, Fla., hospital after a brief illness. She was a native of Ohio, a former resident of Michigan, and a long time resident of Brewton.
She was a retired security guard from Temple-Inland in Monroeville, and a homemaker.
She is survived by two sons, Jerry (Mary) Moffett of Monroeville, and Joey (Angie) Moffett of Brewton; one daughter, Barbara (Mike) Skipper of Excel; two brothers, Richard Douglas of Michigan, and Melvin Lee Douglas, Jr. of Ohio; and five grandchildren, Carrie, Michael, Tracy, Wendy, Crystal; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Moffett; son, Thomas Wayne Moffett; and grandson, Danny.
Funeral services were held Fri., Aug. 7, at 10 a.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Wilbur Graves and the Rev. Mike Skipper officiating. Interment followed in Green Acres Cemetery in Brewton with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Brewton directing.
