Anna Pearl, 73, passed away Tues., Feb. 28. 2017.

Funeral services were held Sat., March 4, at Second Bethlehem Baptist Church in Brewton at 2:30 p.m. with the Rev. Bruce McCreary officiating. Interment followed in St. John Church Cemetery in Lower Peach Tree with Presley–Fluker Funeral Directors directing.

She was born on Sept. 12, 1943, to Dennis Roberson and Celia Jackson in Escambia County. She began her Christian experience at an early age. She joined Second Bethlehem Baptist Church and remained until her death. She was a proud 1961 graduate of Southern Normal High School and was employed for 26 years with Alatex before retiring in 1991. She met and married Walter Poindexter on Dec. 24, 1961.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one siser, Emma J. Elmore; and her husband, Walter Poindexter.

Those who will forever live her legacy and cherish her memories are her three children, Walter (Lisa) Poindexter, Dennis Poindexter, and Chrissey (Clinton) Daniels; two sisters, Lillis Marshall and Leona Samuel; two brothers; Dennis Roberson Jr., and the Rev. Daniel Roberson; seven grandchildren, Whitney, Sheena, Terrell, Trayvon, Lamesha, Memari and Lashawnta; four great grandchildren; one brother-in-law, Theocia Elmore; a special devoted niece, Cynthia Elmore; and a host of adopted grandchildren, nieces, nephews, godchildren, cousins and other relatives and friends.

Ethel Lee Campbell Morris

Flomaton

Ethel Lee Campbell Morris, 81, of TiTi Street in Flomaton, passed away Tues., Feb. 28, at her residence after a brief illness.

Funeral services were held Fri., March 3, at 2 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with Elder Wayne Morris officiating. Interment followed in Green Acres Cemetery in Brewton with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.

She was a native of Liberty, Miss., a former resident of Pearl, Miss., and a long time resident of Flomaton. She was of the Church of Christ faith. She was a retired waitress and a homemaker. She enjoyed fishing, cooking and flowers.

She is survived by her husband, Emmitt Morris; son, Wade Guice; two daughters, Wanda Johnson and Cheryl (Randy) Turner, all of Flomaton; four step sons, Tommy Morris, Joe Morris and Kevin Morris, all of Brewton, and Emmett Morris of Flomaton; step daughter, Celeste Frank of Frisco City; 17 grandchildren; and 20 great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by parents, Lawrence and Lessie Stevens Campbell; son, Wayne Guice; and three sisters, Betty Sandiford, Bobbie Beasley and Lavonne Beasley.

Robert H. Schmidt

Brewton

Robert H. “Bob” Schmidt, 79, passed away Sat., March 4, 2017, at his Brewton residence.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thurs., March 9, from the chapel of Craver’s Funeral Home with the Rev. John Finklea officiating. Interment will follow at Green Acres Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be held at Craver’s Funeral Home today, March 8, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.

Members of the Brewton Police Department will serve as pallbearers.

He was born in Waterloo, Iowa, and had been a resident of Brewton for more than 50 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, and was retired from the City of Brewton Police Department. He was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years,  Gail Schmidt; his parents, Harold H. Schmidt and Viola M. Schmidt; and two brothers, Paul Schmidt and Larry Schmidt.

He is survived by his sister, Phyllis Iturrino of Fairhope; two nieces, Luann Iturrino of Fairhope, and Elayne Garcia and her husband Dallas of Fairhope; and a special friend, Ruby Faircloth of Brewton.
