Brewton

Dewey Cooper, 81, of Appleton Road of Brewton, passed away Thurs., March 9, 2017, in a Mobile hospital after a brief illness.

Funeral services were held Sun., March 12, at 2 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Craig and the Rev. Russ McDonald officiating. Interment followed in Weaver Cemetery in Brewton, with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Brewton directing.

He was a native of Conecuh County, and a long time resident of Brewton. He was a member of the Appleton Assembly of God Church. He attended the Castleberry school system, and was a retired truck driver from AAA Cooper with 35 years of service.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Lois Langham Cooper; two sons, Keith (Sue) Cooper, and Chad (Susan) Cooper, all of Brewton; seven grandchildren, Jordan Cooper, Brandi (John) West, Meagan (Corey) Pavelka, Jared (Cassy) Cooper, Caitlin (Marshall) Bracken, Morgan Cooper and Hannah Cooper; and four great grandchildren, Madison Cooper, Adalyn West, Kinsley Pavelka and Cooper Pavelka. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Beulah Wilson Cooper; six brothers, Earl Cooper, Pete Cooper, David Cooper, Douglas Cooper, Howard Cooper and Malcolm Cooper; and two sisters, Doris Cooper House and Alma Cooper Martin.
