An East Brewton man was critically injured in a Sunday motorcycle crash.

The accident occurred at the intersection of Snowden and Roosevelt streets just before 8 p.m. Sunday when a vehicle struck the motorcycle driven by Chris Marion.

Marion’s wife, Jessica, told The Brewton Standard that her husband was traveling to work when the crash occurred. He was air lifted to the University of South Alabama Hospital.

“He suffered a small brain bleed and a fractured skull,” she said. “We were just terrified and unable to believe something like this could happen. He’s been moved out of the trauma unit and is now in an ICU room.”

Since the crash, police have been searching for the person responsible. Mrs. Marion said police have made an arrest in the case; however, attempts to reach the East Brewton Police Department for confirmation were unsuccessful.

Mr. Marion isn’t the only family member undergoing medical treatment in Mobile. The couple’s son, William, who was recently featured in a Brewton Standard article as he battles cancer, was receiving treatment for a related condition at nearby Mobile hospital. He, too, remains in the hospital.

“Chris is very sore and very stiff from the accident but finally resting well and not so confused,” she said. “I’ll tell everyone, I serve an almighty God. I really hate this happened to my husband, and we have a lot of physical and emotional healing to do but, if you don’t know Jesus and the real work He can do please message me or heck even call me and I’ll tell you a little something about Him! We all need Jesus.”

Funds are currently being accepted to assist the family, which also features four other children, through this difficult time. Those wishing to donate can mail a check or money order to Sherri Weaver at P.O. Box 1803, East Brewton, AL 36427. Donation jars will be located at On the Boulevard, Cigarette King and the Hairport.
