Attention Italian food lovers Brewton will soon have an Italian restaurant that will be open in March owners are James and Tabitha Ansley.

James said he has been cooking since he was 6 years old and he loves to cook. “I had a job where I would work from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and working their took time away from me spending time with my son,” Ansley said. “I was just sitting at work one night and was thinking about opening my own restaurant. I didn’t want to regret anything.”

Ansley said he has always dreamed of having his own restaurant. “I love cooking and along the way I picked up a few things from other restaurants I worked at,” he said. I never went to school for it. “Ansley said they will make all their dishes from scratch.

“The biggest factor is that we do everything from scratch as we make our own sauce, make our own seasoning, everything is freshly made, and we do everything the morning of, so it can be fresh and tasty for our customers when they come in,” Ansley said.

Ansley said they plan to open the first full week of March with 15-20 employees. “Here at Louie’s we will be building a family not a crew,” Ansley said. The restaurant hours will be Monday -Saturday 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and on Sundays 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

“We don’t have a menu just yet,” he said. “However, we want to bring the best to our customers’ tables and we want them to tell us what may need changing or tweaked.”

The restaurant will have two phases to it, he said. During the day Louie’s will be a sit down diner with the music playing, lights dimmed. Then after 4 p.m. it will change from a casual setting to a classy setting, with each dinner table with fresh bread.

“This is my first restaurant and I chose the city of Brewton to open it. Brewton is a community that is the most comfortable,” Ansley said. He said him and his wife love Brewton.
