Sister Bessie Mae Richardson was born on Apr. 8, 1929 to Bessie Lee and Fletcher Bowins Sr. She departed this life on Nov. 30, 2018 at the Century Care Rehabilitation Center in Century, Fla.
She accepted Christ at an early age and joined Greater Nazarene Missionary Baptist Church, where she was a deaconess and Member of the Society.
She united in holy matrimony with Hulious Lee Richardson Sr. on Oct. 19, 1947. To this union, twelve children were born. She was preceded in death by her husband and sons, Walter Lee and Hulious Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memories, eight sons, Charles (Nancy) Richardson, Eddie James Richardson, John Calvin Richardson, Wayne (Doris) Richardson, Kenneth Richardson, Lonnie (Loretta) Richardson of Evergreen, Ala., Errice (Brenda) Richardson Sr. of Antioch, Cali., Nathaniel (Yolanda) Richardson of Roseville, Cali.; two daughters, Joyce (Jimmy) Montgomery of Brewton, Carrie Lee (Joseph) Bradley of Evergreen; 39 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; one sister-in-law, Evelyn Scott of Pensacola, Fla.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services were held on Dec. 8 at 11 a.m. at Greater Nazarene Baptist Church in Evergreen, Ala. with Pastor J.O. Meeks officiating. Interment followed at Nazarene Church Cemetery with Presley-Fluker Funeral Directors directing.
