Mr. Allen Mason Blackwell,89, of Virginia Street, East Brewton, Ala. passed away Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2018 at his residence after a brief illness. He was a native of Range, Ala. and a life-long resident of East Brewton. Mr. Blackwell was of the Protestant faith, a U.S. Army Veteran, having served in the Korean Conflict, a member of the American Legion and the DAV and was a retired Carpenter.
Survivors include two sons, Brian Meadows of East Brewton, Paul Meadows of Opp; one daughter, Robbie Evans of Miss.; one brother, Cecil Blackwell of Range; nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Lillie Mae Minchew Blackwell; three brothers, William Buddy Blackwell, Nick Blackwell, Raphel Blackwell; two sisters, Florine Knowles, Gladys Knowles.
Visitation was held on Thursday afternoon, Dec. 13, 2018 from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home in Brewton.
Funeral Services were scheduled for Thursday afternoon, Dec. 13, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. William Joyner officiating. Interment followed in Fort Crawford Cemetery in East Brewton with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Brewton directing.
