Giving back to the community, the Quilting Angels from the United Methodist Church of East Brewton are finding new ways to make a difference this holiday season.
Reaching into thier own personal funds, the group is helping pack boxes for the local Department of Human Resources.
For the past seven years, the group has met to quilt one morning every week. “We meet every Thursday,” said Barbara Harris, one of the founding members. “It starts about 8:30 and we stay until lunch,” added Member Gloria S. Coleman.
Through one of these meetings, the ladies within the group decided to reach out and provide hope to many families throughout the community.
“We are donating these to DHR, they are packed full,” said Harris.
Each box is filled with provisions for a family in need.
Channeling the holiday spirit, the group hopes to make a difference through the project.
