MICHAEL ALEXANDER “ALEX” PIPPIN FRANKLIN, TENN.

Michael Alexander “Alex” Pippin, a beloved son, father and friend, died Jan. 7 at his home near Franklin. He was 40.

Alex was born July 26, 1979, in East Ridge, Tennessee. He completed his education in Union, South Carolina, and had lived in the LaGrange area for about 20 years.

He had a natural aptitude for mechanical and construction projects, enjoyed tinkering in his workshop and worked in the building industry with companies including The Pippin Group and HIC. He was an avid outdoorsman and was appreciated by friends as an exceptional grill cook. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of LaGrange.

Survivors include his parents, David M. “Mike” Pippin and Barbara Wilson “Babs” Pippin; his daughter, Mary Alexander Lee “Mary Alex” Pippin; stepsons J.D. Dennis and Jackson Dennis, grandmother Peggy W. Armstrong, all of LaGrange, aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Wilson Evan Pippin and grandparents E.L. Pippin, Mary Frances Pippin and Edward D. Wilson.

A memorial service was held Jan. 12 at First United Methodist Church of La- Grange with Dr. John Beyers and the Rev. Ben Wills officiating.
