BREWTON, ALA.

CDR George Vance Painter age 91 of Garrett Street Brewton, Alabama passed away Friday June 12, 2020 in a local nursing facility after a brief illness. He was a native of Shelton, Connecticut, A former resident of Fairfax, Virginia, and a long time resident of Brewton, Alabama where he started the band Saint George and the Dragon Slayers. Mr. Painter was a member of the St. Stephens Episcopal Church, A 1945 graduate of Freeport High School in Long Island, New York, A graduate of Rensselaer College in Troy, New York, He was a U.S. Navy Veteran having served 23 years, and retired from Brewton Iron Works with 19 years of service.

Leah Helen Painter of Pensacola, Florida

Son- Geoffrey Phillip Painter
