Riley Edward Ellis, 81 of Old Hwy. 31 in Flomaton passed away Thursday, September 3, 2020 at his residence after a brief illness.
He was a native of Brewton and a life long resident of Flomaton. Mr. Ellis was of the Baptist faith, a 1957 graduate of Flomaton High School, a U.S. Navy veteran, and a retired powerhouse shift engineer from Smurfitt with 30 plus years of service.
He loved to travel and Alabama football.
He is survived by nephews Wayne Ellis, Jimmy Godwin, Jerry Holt, Bob Ellis, Ronald Ellis, Billy Ellis; nieces Linda Luttrell, Joyce McMath, Susie Wiggins, Evelyn Anderson; a special great-niece Rebecca Jernigan; and a special great-nephew Berry Ellis.
Graveside services were held Friday, September 4, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at Catawba Springs Cemetery with Elder Berry Ellis and High Priest Holly Ellis officiating.
Interment followed in Catawba Springs Cemetery in Brewton with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
