Severe weather possible Wednesday

Escambia County Emergency Management Director David Adams said confidence “is rising” in predictions for severe weather in our area Wednesday and Wednesday night (Dec. 14).
“This is the latest from the National Weather Service in Mobile, on the potential for severe weather Wednesday afternoon and eveningm” Adams said. “The confidence for this is currently low to medium but rising. Please stay aware of the forecast and changing weather conditions.”

Overview/What’s New: Timing remains consistent, with the best time for the potential of strong to severe storms being Wednesday and Wednesday night (more specifically Wednesday afternoon and Wednesday evening). The potential severe weather threats and impacts for our area have not changed.
- WHAT: Potential for damaging winds and a few tornadoes. Localized heavy rainfall will also be possible.
- WHEN: Wednesday and Wednesday night, more specifically Wednesday afternoon through Wednesday evening.
- WHERE: Damaging wind threat will be across our entire area. The tornado threat, while possible across the entire area, will be most likely down along our coastal counties.
- CONFIDENCE: Low to medium confidence, but increasing.
