Hardly anything that happens in our community — from school events to concerts to celebrations to fundraisers — without volunteers.
Most of them toil away with little or no expectation of thanks or recognition. They do it because it helps people, or it makes them feel good, or because they believe it is their duty to give back to the community.
We want to give readers the opportunity to thank those unsung heroes.
This year, as part of our annual Progress edition that publishes in February, we’re asking our readers to help us determine what makes the Brewton area unique. And one of the most important factors that makes our community what it is are the volunteers who give back to the community every day.
We want your nominations for our area’s Unsung Heroes. Send an essay or letter describing that person and why you believe he or she should be considered an unsung hero. We’ll take care of the rest, and the list will be published next February.
