The Oct. 29 fire at Brewton's T.R. Miller Mill Company has resulted in a temporary decrease in production of lumber.
Danny White, president of the local mill, said production has slowed as a result of the fire, but should be back to normal in the near future.
The blaze that had Brewton, East Brewton and Dixonville firefighters on the scene for 13 hours caused considerable damage to the kiln structure; however, there were no injuries reported.
The damage, which White said would be more than $1 million, was contained to one kiln on the mill campus near downtown Brewton.
A fourth kiln was already under construction at T.R. Miller Mill when the fire broke out.
The lost kiln will be rebuilt in the near future, White said. That reconstruction could take several months to complete.
Early indications are that the fire was potentially started by a spark from maintenance work on the kiln, White said.
