Mr. Benjamin Robert Tingen Jr., 75, of U.S. 31, south of Castleberry, died Monday, Nov. 26, 2007, at a local hospital after an extended illness. He was a native of Harnell County, N.C., and a former resident of Brewton, before moving to Castleberry. He was retired from Container Corporation with 38 years of service and was a member of the East Brewton First Assembly of God Church.
He is survived by his wife, Marie Hart Tingen of Castleberry; three sons, Bobby (Belinda) Tingen of Castleberry, and Jerry Tingen of Anchorage, Alaska; one sister, Mary Hart of Falcon, N.C.; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Thursday, Nov. 29, from 6 to 9 p.m. at East Brewton First Assembly of God Church.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Nov. 30, at 10 a.m. at East Brewton First Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Jeff Scurlock and the Rev. Willie Hart officiating. Burial will follow at Weaver Cemetery in the Appleton community with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
